Are you a strategic communicator with a passion for storytelling and employee engagement? We’re looking for an Internal Communications Manager to inspire and shape our internal communications during a 15-month maternity cover contract. This is a key role responsible for leading the management, coordination, and flow of day-to-day internal communications across the organisation. The successful candidate will plan, write, and publish engaging internal stories, optimise layout and design, and advise on the most effective ways to communicate and present information. They will manage and support our Internal Content Editor, helping them produce high-quality content and develop in their role. In addition, the role will spearhead on internal communications projects, including those focused on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), ensuring all activity aligns with our strategic business priorities. A core part of the role involves regulating news flow and using analytics to inform decisions around layout, features, and communication methods. The successful candidate will be expected to bring creativity and innovation to our internal messaging and channels and exploring new ways to deliver important messages in line with our brand and tone of voice. Working closely with a network of content publishers across all teams, the Internal Communications Manager will coach and guide colleagues in writing and publishing their own content, while also identifying stories for wider internal use and social media channels such as Instagram. They will be responsible for introducing new functionality and embracing multimedia tools and ideas to continuously improve and refresh our internal communications. The role also includes directing the delivery of Town Hall events, both hybrid and in-person, by developing strategic agendas and messaging, briefing speakers, and managing all event logistics with support from external providers. They will play a key role within the wider Communications team, acting as a role model for our organisational behaviours and supporting the development of junior team members. Our ideal candidate will have significant experience in internal communications, with a proven ability to manage and develop a small team. They will be an exceptional communicator, both in writing and verbally, with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation. A natural storyteller, they will have a keen eye for identifying engaging content and planning it collaboratively. They should be assured in interpreting complex corporate information and presenting it in a clear, accessible way using digital tools. Strong analytical skills are essential to guide communication strategies, alongside the ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines under pressure, and manage events with precision and professionalism.
