Every referral represents a patient waiting for the next stage of their care.

As Referrals Team Lead, you'll make sure referrals are accurate, complete and sent to the right service first time.

You'll remain an active member of the referrals team while leading colleagues, maintaining quality and helping improve how the service operates.

You'll monitor workload, support colleagues, improve processes and make sure patients don't experience delays because paperwork gets stuck.

What you'll do

  • Lead the referrals function across multiple GP practices.
  • Personally process referrals alongside your team.
  • Ensure urgent referrals are prioritised appropriately.
  • Monitor quality, turnaround times and capacity.
  • Support colleagues with complex referral queries.
  • Improve referral processes and documentation.
