We are looking for a number of Lead GPs to take on a senior clinical leadership and clinical management role within surgeries, working closely with a wider management and leadership team across the group. Alongside providing patient care, you will lead and support the GP team, acting as a visible senior presence and supporting day-to-day clinical management, decision-making, and standards. You won't be working alone. You will work closely with practice management, central support teams, and group clinical leadership, who provide operational, HR, rota, and governance support.

The role involves contributing to clinical governance, service improvement, and workforce planning, and working collaboratively with managers and central teams to improve how services run. You will help translate group priorities into practical changes at practice level, while keeping patient care and safety at the centre. This role suits an experienced GP who enjoys clinical leadership, managing peers, and working as part of a supported group model rather than in isolation.

  • Provide safe, high-quality GP care in line with GMC standards and practice policies.
  • Lead and support the GP team, offering day-to-day clinical leadership, guidance, and support.
  • Act as a senior clinical point of contact for complex or higher-risk cases, helping colleagues as needed.
  • Play an active role in the clinical management of the service, supporting consistent standards, safe practice, and good patient care.
  • Work closely with practice management, central teams, and group clinical leaders to support the smooth running of services.
  • Take part in clinical governance activities, including learning from incidents, audits, and quality improvement work.
  • Support the induction, development, and ongoing support of GP colleagues.
  • Contribute to service improvement and change, helping turn group priorities into practical improvements at practice level.
  • Work collaboratively with operational and non-clinical managers to resolve issues and improve day-to-day ways of working.
  • Attend leadership meetings and wider group forums when required.
