We are looking for an administrator/receptionist to join our friendly team at Penny's Hill Practice. You should have previous experience in a customer service environment, be flexible and willing to learn, and have the ability to work under pressure. Applicants should also be confident and able to project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone, as well as offer general assistance to the practice team. Whilst knowledge and experience of the NHS are beneficial, they are not essential, and training will be given. This is a challenging role at times, but it is also very rewarding.

Main duties of the job:

  • Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Reception Supervisor, Assistant to the Practice Manager or Practice Manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels.

About us:

We are based in Ferndown Town Centre in walking distance to all amenities and the local supermarket. The practice shares the purpose-built premises with Orchid House Surgery with a range of community services also being provided from attached facilities. Penny's Hill Practice is a six-partner practice providing a range of primary care and community health services from Ferndown Medical Centre. We run a personal list system for our 6 GPs and have approximately 7500 patients registered with us. We also have 3 practice nurses, 1 Phlebotomist, 1 Phlebotomist / HCA, 1 tracker nurse / HCA and our reception team.

  • GCSE mathematics or equivalent
