Penny on the Move (POTM)
POTM is a well-established and reputable petrol forecourt and retail business currently operating across 97 sites in the North of England and Scotland. Founded and led by entrepreneur Dave Penny (DP), who has dedicated his professional life to building one of the most attractive businesses to come out of the North East, POTM is now the 5th largest independent fuel forecourt operator in the UK.
Management Structure
The business is currently supported by three experienced operators. The Owner and Founder hands day to day running of the business to the Chief Executive Officer, who is chiefly responsible for the Retail Operations of the 97 sites. The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), is responsible for the support mechanisms in place to help drive the business, as well as identifying wider business strategic opportunities. The executive is completed by a long-serving and experienced Accounts Manager, who runs the administrative centre from HQ in Powburn.
The Regional Manager reports directly into the CEO, along with the other Regional Manager who currently oversees the leadership of half of the POTM in the East of the company’s portfolio.
Regional Manager
Aim of the role
The Regional Manager is a highly prominent individual within the company, leading the performance of almost 50 petrol forecourts, which incorporates almost half of the entire POTM workforce, as well as influencing the wider business at both a strategic and operational level.
The ultimate aim of the Regional Manager is to support the store teams in ultimately delivering a wonderful service, offering exceptional standards, and creating a culture within their sites that drives both customer loyalty and a thriving working environment for our colleagues. This culture at POTM is underpinned by the 5 Ps (Pride, Positivity, Perseverance, Passion and Partnerships), and this is something the entire company believe and live by, and the leadership within the business (including the Regional Managers) are expected to role model these behaviours on a consistent basis.
