We are looking for an experienced head chef/cook to head up the kitchen in a very busy high volume day time only restaurant near Wolverhampton. A full kitchen and restaurant refurbishment is pending so it's a great time to join them and be part of the future of the business.
The head chef/cook that we are looking for will have strong leadership, people/team management and training skills with the ability to bring people together and build a cohesive team. Training will initially be a big part of the role to get everyone up to the same standard and instil good cooking skills.
A massive bonus is that this is a day time only restaurant, so you won’t work any evenings ever!

As the Head Chef/Cook you will lead the team in all areas of food production. A true foodie, you will bring your personality to the kitchen inspiring and motivating your team’s passion to produce great food. The menu is predominantly fresh and you will have input into it.
Role - Head Chef/CookAs Head Chef/Cook you will:
- Lead the daily operation of the kitchen, you will be hands on.
- Have input into the menu - part fresh and part bought in.
- Manage the GP and all costs and budgets.
- Recruit, train, develop and lead your team.
- Monitor stock levels and manage stock orders.
- Carry out weekly stock counts to ensure GP targets are achieved.
- Manage the cleaning of equipment and working areas to the highest food hygiene standards.
- Plan rotas and holidays to meet service level requirements.
- Work closely with the General Restaurant Manager to achieve the highest standards, service and sales.
We are looking for:
- Successful and experienced Head Chef/Cook with a background managing high volume fast paced kitchens.
- Patience for training and developing cooks/chefs to improve their skills.
- Friendly, with an engaging personality and a genuine love for customer service.
- Strong communicator who can motivate and develop their team to deliver with enthusiasm and great personality.
- Knowledgeable in Food Hygiene and Health and Safety requirements.
- Commercially aware to achieve sales and profit targets - GP, costs, budgets, wastage.
- The ability to write and cost menus.
- Passion for delivering the highest quality food and service.
