I am looking for a Sous Chef for a high volume day time only restaurant. All the menus are freshly prepared daily, including all baking, and it is open for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. A massive bonus is that you will work sensible hours (40 hours a week) straight daytime shifts with no late evenings. If you love being a chef, but don't want to work 60 hours a week and every evening and weekend then this is the job for you!

Role - Sous Chef

  • Lead the daily operation of the kitchen, you will be hands on.
  • Help to manage the GP, labour and all costs and budgets.
  • Train, develop and lead your team.
  • Monitor stock levels and manage stock orders.
  • Manage the cleaning of equipment and working areas to the highest food hygiene standards.
  • Prepare and cook the all fresh menu.
  • Deputise for the head chef in their absence.

We are looking for:

  • An experienced Sous Chef with a background working in high volume kitchens.
  • Patience for training and developing chefs to improve their skills.
  • Friendly, with an engaging personality and a genuine love for cooking fresh food.
  • Strong communicator who can motivate and develop their team.
  • Knowledgeable in Food Hygiene and Health and Safety requirements.
  • Commercially aware to help achieve the GP, costs, budgets, labour, wastage.
  • Passion for delivering the highest quality food and service.
