Penny Brohn UK is the cancer health and wellbeing charity. We help people feel better in mind, body and spirit by offering support through our team of cancer support experts (which includes doctors, nutritionists, counsellors and exercise therapists) both online and in person at our National Centre in Pill. By making our services freely available, our aim is for all people with cancer to be able to access the high-quality support they need.
About the role
We are delighted to be recruiting a Chef on a 37-hour per week contract and are seeking an experienced individual who can work as part of a team as well as independently in our kitchen. Alongside our client work, the Penny Brohn UK National Centre operates as a hospitality venue, therefore, the successful candidate will be required to prepare a diverse and fresh range of nutritious meals for clients, staff, visitors and commercial guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver healthy balanced meals aligned with nutrition guidelines to meet the needs of Penny Brohn UK’s cancer clients as they attend in-person services at the National Centre.
- Support fundraising events and all other catering requests.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
- Assist and support with stock, ordering, and overall kitchen organisation.
- Work alongside other members of the kitchen team as well as working alone when required.
About You
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a calm, supportive environment and can confidently manage kitchen operations when working solo. Candidates should have proven experience as a Chef in a similar setting with the ability to work independently. They will have a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and experience and knowledge of working with dietary requirements and allergies. Candidates will be available to work flexibly across weekdays, evenings and weekends.
