Pennsylvania Steel Company, Inc. is seeking a full time, permanent, Order Puller for our Warehouse in York, PA. This Position reports into the Branch Warehouse Manager. Job Overview:
This person will be responsible for handling various types of metals by hand or via material handling equipment to fulfill work orders and packaging according to customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Perform various physical tasks related to work order fulfillment involving order pulling, material handling and packaging.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace and follow all safety and quality guidelines as laid out by Pennsylvania Steel and the PA Steel Safety Manual, as well as the Employee Handbook.
- Follow all quality measures relating to the branch’s quality instructions.
- Follow all packaging instructions laid out by customer specifications or as instructed by PA Steel supervision.
Experience and Skills:
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- An understanding of, and ability to operate, material handling equipment such as a forklift, and overhead crane
- Proficient in Windows based software
- Working knowledge of decimals and fractions
- Proficient in measuring via tape measures and micrometers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work safely in an environment with machinery, overhead cranes, and moving equipment
- Ability to work a full shift on your feet with little stationary time
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access forklifts and truck beds
- Medium / heavy manual work involving handling over 50 pounds frequently / up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Tolerance of temperature extremes encountered both inside and outside of an open warehouse environment
