The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 Β£ per year.
Our medical client is looking to recruit a Prescription Administrator to join their team. Working in a busy GP Surgery setting in Sutton Coldfield, you will work 30 hours per week - 6 hours per day (Monday to Friday) covering one of the following 2 shift options:
- Option 1 - Fortnightly Shift Pattern: Week 1: Monday - Friday 11:00-17:00 daily. Week 2: Monday - Friday 08:30-14:30 daily.
- Option 2: Monday - Thursday 09:00-15:00, Friday - 11:00-17:00.
You will also need some flexibility to be able to cover Holiday/Sickness cover as required.
Main Duties:
- Processing repeat prescriptions on a daily basis
- Dealing with prescription queries
- Validating a prescription request and preparing it for a doctor's authorisation
- Dealing with private medical examinations policies where required
- Maintaining computerised/manual records
- Telephone liaison with patients and other healthcare professionals
- Handling any payments and recording them
- Providing confidential and sympathetic reception services to patients and visitors
- Handling all administrative duties as required
Skills required:
- Ability to work independently, with high levels of concentration, working at pace
- Must have excellent communication skills, a friendly telephone manner and committed to deliver a high standard of customer service to patients
- Adhere to the need for strict confidentiality
- Accuracy and attention to detail is a must
- Being able to remain calm under pressure
- Self motivated
- Medical Terminology knowledge (desirable)
- Knowledge of handling data (desirable)
- Computer literacy with excellent keyboard skills
