We currently have an exciting opportunity arise for an Assistant Group Treasurer to join our team working in Exeter or Bristol. You will join us on a permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £75,000 - £90,000 per annum plus car allowance.
The Assistant Treasurer will play a key role in developing Pennon’s Treasury function across cash management, debt capital markets, liquidity and risk management. The role will support the Group Treasurer in ensuring efficient access to funding, robust financial risk controls and compliance with the governance and reporting requirements of a listed business.
What you will be doing:
- Strategic Leadership: Support the development and implementation of a robust treasury strategy focused on efficient funding, cost optimisation, and long-term value creation.
- Cash & Liquidity Management: Oversee group-wide cash positions, ensuring adequate liquidity and effective working capital management through accurate forecasting and planning.
- Funding & Capital Markets: Manage the Group’s debt portfolio and support the execution of new financing transactions, including sustainable and green finance initiatives, while maintaining strong relationships with banks, investors, and rating agencies.
- Risk Management: Monitor key financial risks, implement approved hedging strategies, and contribute to scenario analysis and stress testing to support informed decision-making.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with treasury policies, loan covenants, and reporting standards, supporting disclosures and responses to external stakeholders.
- Treasury Operations & Systems: Drive operational excellence through automation, systems development, and continuous process improvement.
What we are looking for:
- You’ll be an analytical, detail-oriented treasury professional with strong technical knowledge and the ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Solid understanding of accounting systems and reporting processes
- Experience in a busy treasury environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting
Required:
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
Desirable:
- AMCT qualification
