We are seeking a Plumbing Compliance Assessor to join our Water Regulations team, covering the Cornwall area. This field‐based role requires the ability to work independently while providing excellent customer service.
What You'll Be Doing
- Inspect domestic and commercial plumbing installations to ensure compliance with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999
- Identify, investigate and take appropriate action where non‐compliance or contamination risks are found
- Issue and record enforcement notices using specialist systems and corporate databases
- Maintain accurate records, work orders, diary entries and appointment details in line with service standards
- Provide technical advice and guidance to customers, colleagues and external stakeholders
- Respond effectively to suspected or actual contamination incidents
- Work safely at all times, following health, safety and company procedures
- Support the wider Regulations team and cover for the Team Manager when required
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation, plumbing practices and regulation enforcement
- Complete relevant training, including working towards an NVQ Level 3 in Regulations Enforcement
Essential Requirements
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and plans
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
- Full UK driving licence
- A customer‐focused, methodical and safety‐conscious approach
Desirable
- Plumbing qualification or background in plumbing/allied trades
- Water Regulations or plumbing qualifications are desirable, but we'll support you to develop in the role
- Previous experience working independently in a field‐based role
