We’re looking for an experienced Programme Manager to lead the design and delivery of a multi‑million‑pound capital investment programme comprising multidisciplinary projects. Working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 partners and a team of Project Managers, you will ensure projects are governed, commercially controlled and delivered to the highest standards of safety and quality. This senior leadership role requires strong commercial acumen and hands‑on experience managing programmes under NEC contracts.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead delivery of a multi‑million‑pound capital programme, ensuring strong governance, planning and execution.
- Maintain full commercial control, ensuring all projects align with NEC contract frameworks and protect the business from risk and loss.
- Ensure works are only initiated in line with approved budgets and Board‑sanctioned governance.
- Present monthly programme forecasts, proactively managing risks, changes and budget variances.
- Lead audits across Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental compliance, driving continuous improvement.
- Oversee engineering solutions to ensure compliance with standards and protection of water quality and public health.
- Manage programme risks through a robust risk register, ensuring no surprises to senior stakeholders.
- Lead, develop and support high‑performing teams through clear objectives, regular reviews and development plans.
Essential
- Strong NEC contract experience (NEC3/NEC4)
- Client‑side or asset‑owner experience
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience in a regulated environment (e.g. water, utilities, infrastructure)
- Knowledge of AMP cycles / regulatory frameworks (if applicable)
- Programme controls experience (e.g. cost forecasting, Primavera P6, earned value)
- Degree in Engineering or related discipline
- Professional accreditation (e.g. Chartered Engineer, APM, or equivalent)
