As a Paralegal within Pennon Group’s Corporate Services Department, you will support our Legal Advisers and Legal Manager across a wide range of legal matters including enforcement and compliance under the Water Industry Act 1991. Your role will involve working with the Enforcement Team to regulate compliance, support water companies in tackling private leakage, illegal connections and breaches of Water Fittings Regulations, and handle related investigations and documentation.
Key responsibilities
- Support Legal Advisers on enforcement and compliance matters
- Draft correspondence and prepare legal documentation
- Assist with investigations into regulatory breaches (e.g., illegal connections, private leaks)
- Conduct legal research and support case preparation
- Prepare and communicate key legal and regulatory updates across the business
- Manage general legal enquiries and maintain internal legal systems
- Support post‑completion activities, including Stamp Duty and Land Registry processes
- Assist with transaction completion, including preparation and submission of documentation
About you
- Previous experience working in a Paralegal role
- Minimum five GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English (Grade A–C)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proven ability to handle confidential information professionally
- A flexible, agile and problem‑solving mindset
- Interest in regulatory and/or environmental law
