We’re proud to be part of Pennon Group, a leader in the UK water sector, working towards a greener future.
We’re looking for a Network Quality Assurance Technician (NQAT) to be the eyes and ears on the ground — ensuring our delivery partners meet the standards we expect, every time. If you know water networks, care about doing things properly, and aren’t afraid to challenge poor workmanship, this is where you step up. Please note this is a field-based 24/7 operational role.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Inspecting and assuring work across repair & maintenance, new mains, services, metering and reinstatement
- Holding delivery partners to account on quality, safety, compliance and workmanship
- Monitoring day-to-day SHEQ performance, escalating risks and ensuring standards are met
- Ensuring full compliance with NRSWA, permits, traffic management and safe systems of work
- Supporting planned and reactive operations, including mains isolations and supply interruptions
- Investigating issues, resolving defects and driving improvements on site
- Handling customer and stakeholder queries professionally, including complaints resolution
- Building strong working relationships with local authorities, contractors and internal teams
- Contributing to performance tracking across cost, productivity and service levels
- Participating in a 24/7 standby rota as part of a multi-skilled operational team
What We’re Looking For:
- Solid experience working on water network operations or contracts
- Strong knowledge of street works, traffic management and compliance requirements
- Confident working in the field. Able to challenge, influence and hold others to account
- A calm, practical approach with the ability to make decisions under pressure
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and reporting accuracy
- Comfortable using mobile tech and systems in a field-based environment
- A customer-first mindset, professional, responsive and solutions-focused
Essential Qualifications:
- NRSWA Supervisor
- EUSR Water Hygiene
- Utility SHEA
Desirable:
- SSSTS, temporary works or deep excavation training
- Experience coaching or supporting others
This role offers the chance to make a real operational impact by protecting service, safety and reputation, while enjoying varied, hands-on work across the Bristol Water network where no two days are the same. You’ll play a key part in shaping standards and driving on-the-ground improvements, supported by a strong team of experienced network professionals. With opportunities to grow your technical expertise and develop your career in water operations, plus a standby allowance and a comprehensive benefits package, it’s a role where you can truly make a difference.
Closing Date: 21st April 2026. We may close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of applications. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible. Please note that the successful candidate will be subject to a mandatory DBS check as part of the onboarding process.
