With a reputation built on years of industry expertise and a team of specialist immigration lawyers, the Penningtons Manches Cooper immigration team provides innovative, clear and tailored solutions for UK and non-UK based clients. They are now looking to hire an experienced immigration paralegal to join the busy team in our London office. The role provides exposure to high quality work and offers responsibility, direct client contact and training in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Supporting senior members of the team with fee earning, undertake fee-earning work and provide a profitable contribution to the work of the division.
- Drafting documents including Home Office forms and advice letters.
- Carrying out legal research.
- Keeping up to date with immigration changes and consultations.
- Being an ambassador for the firm at all times and always promoting it in a positive light.
Essential & Desirable Criteria
- Ideally, at least 12 months' business immigration experience at a top tier immigration practice.
- Knowledge of immigration legislation and experience of dealing with the Home Office desirable.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage a busy workload.
- Sound organisational skills; flexible, pragmatic and problem-solving approach.
- Ability to work both alone and collaboratively with other team members.
- Confidence in client facing communications.
- Attention to accuracy and detail.
- Collaborative team member with ability to quickly build relationships with a wide range of people.
- Receptive to facilitate and support change to work systems and processes given the rapid pace of change to Home Office rules/policies/procedures.
- Comfortable working under pressure with the ability to plan and prioritise work; appreciation of fee earner needs and constraints; commercially aware.
