Penningtons Manches Cooper's highly ranked corporate tax team is looking for an Associate to join its team. The team provides full transactional support and standalone tax advice to a wide variety of business clients, based both in the UK and overseas. Our specialists can deal with the entire range of corporate tax issues - from advising on the optimum tax structure for buying, selling or reorganising a business, obtaining tax clearances and offering guidance on the stamp duty implications of an acquisition or reorganisation, to providing support on all VAT matters, international tax issues and the conduct of tax disputes.

We are also highly regarded for our work providing tax advice in the venture capital space, in particular advising companies on eligibility to receive tax efficient investments and to offer share incentives to employees, directors and advisors. We work closely with our clients and their other existing advisers in order to ensure that their objectives are met in a commercial and pragmatic manner. We are very experienced in assisting clients during the purchase or sale of businesses, often within short timeframes. Members of our team are highly skilled in drafting and negotiating tax deeds and warranties. We have no need to involve outside consultants and are therefore able to achieve the best outcome for our clients while saving them time and money.

One of our key strengths is the ability to tailor our corporate tax advice to each business, drawing in expertise from across the firm as appropriate. We pride ourselves on the strong relationships that we develop with client organisations which result in us becoming their trusted advisers in relation to all tax matters. The firm operates a hybrid agile working policy allowing employees to work from home (or another UK location) for up to 50% of their time. Individuals can also apply for other flexible working options either at the time of recruitment or during the course of their employment.
