About this role
We are seeking a Bid Writer to become a valuable part of our sales team at Pennington Choices. In this role, you will be responsible for producing well-crafted, professionally written tender proposals that effectively communicate our value proposition. You’ll play a vital role in creating compelling, high-quality proposals that drive a consistent win rate whilst ensuring alignment with our brand’s tone, copy guidelines, and standards. Your contributions will be key in driving our growth through the development of successful, winning bid strategies.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop persuasive, client-focused content for complex bids and proposals.
- Work closely with bid managers and subject matter experts to create winning strategies.
- Conduct research and gather information from various sources to construct solid, evidence-based proposals.
- Edit, proofread, and manage the overall quality of proposal content.
- Coach and mentor junior bid team members.
- Participate and lead in bid/no-bid decisions and strategy meetings.
- Ensure compliance with RFP requirements and deadlines.
- Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, compelling content.
- Strong project management and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality deliverables.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task.
Role requirements, skills and/or experience
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Business, or related field.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong research and analytical abilities.
- Proven work experience as a bid writer in a professional services environment (3+ years).
- Prior experience and good understanding of basic Microsoft package skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Understanding of sales performance metrics and the ability to analyse bid data for strategic decisions.
- Driving licence, our office in Warrington is remote and not easily accessible via public transport so commuting by car is essential for this role.
Desirable
- Prior experience and good understanding of CRM systems, preferably HubSpot.
- Prior experience of using Adobe InDesign.
