The Clinical Lead Practitioner will provide senior clinical leadership and professional expertise within the CAMHS multidisciplinary team. The postholder will lead and support high-quality assessment, care planning and intervention for children and young people with complex mental health needs, while carrying a small, complex caseload.

You will provide structured clinical supervision, support colleagues with complex cases, lead on risk assessment and safeguarding, and maintain a small clinical caseload. You will work collaboratively with the Operational Team Manager, multidisciplinary colleagues and partner agencies to improve clinical pathways, promote timely transitions and discharge, and develop evidence-based practice across the service.

Main duties of the job

Key elements of the role include:

  • Providing clinical leadership, consultation and structured supervision.
  • Supporting complex clinical decision-making, risk assessment and risk management.
  • Leading safeguarding practice and supporting learning following incidents.
  • Promoting evidence-based practice, high professional standards and effective record keeping.
  • Supporting clinical governance, audit, service review and quality improvement.
  • Developing staff confidence, competence and learning opportunities.
  • Strengthening collaborative working and clinical pathways across CAMHS and partner services.
  • Supporting safe, effective and timely transitions into and out of CAMHS.

The successful candidate will be a proactive and compassionate clinical leader who can inspire colleagues, promote continuous improvement and help ensure that children, young people and families receive safe, responsive and high-quality care.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Managerial

  • provide case management supervision to thestaffteam, promoting stepping down services to care support and the timely discharge
  • To be an effective decision-making and clinical resource t to support the Team manager in the selections and recruitment of staff, and to develop and promote strategies aimed at staff retention
  • To support the Team manager to complete appraisals and MYC for relevant allocated staff within the team.
  • To support the team in developing and building effective communication with all other services.
