This post is located within a Core CAMHS team in Bury. The role will involve the provision of Clinical Psychology assessment and interventions in to the Core CAMHS service The post will involve casework within the core Tier 3 CAMHS service working with a caseload of young people with complex presentations.

The successful candidate will have experience in delivering several models of psychological therapy to this population (e.g. CBT, DBT, EMDR), and will be keen to develop further therapeutic competence (e.g. IPT, MBT).

The post holder will utilise research skills for audit, policy, service development and research. The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service. They will adhere to Trust policies.

The post holder will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that high quality individualised care is delivered which ensures safety and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellbeing and maximising independence.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to work in a variety of settings, including a number of specialist children’s services and community settings, including the child and family’s home, residential settings and the child’s school. Liaison with other agencies will require the post holder to attend meetings in social care, voluntary service settings and Education establishments.

The post holder will be required to transport test materials between work sites and to manipulate test items with speed and accuracy, and work with children who may have severe emotional and behavioral problems.
