Clinical Role

You will support the lead psychologist in promoting psychological perspectives on the ward. Responsibilities include offering assessments, formulations, and interventions to the men, facilitating skills-based groups such as mindfulness, and supporting the wider MDT in developing individual positive support plans with service users.

You will assist in implementing a trauma-informed approach by co-facilitating Team Formulation meetings and Reflective Practice sessions. Administrative tasks include preparing notes on individuals\’ backgrounds, data input, and spreadsheet management.

You will receive clinical and line management supervision from a Practitioner Psychologist and participate in peer supervision with other Assistant Psychologists.

There is 1x 12-month fixed-term full-time role and 1x 12-month fixed-term part-time role (18.75 hours).

Prospect Place is part of the Rehabilitation and High Support Care Hub in Pennine Care, located at Birch Hill Hospital, Rochdale. It is a 45-bed low secure unit for men aged 18-65 with diagnosed psychotic disorders detained under the Mental Health Act, often with alcohol and drug misuse issues. A secure setting helps address challenges related to their illness and vulnerabilities.

Free parking is available at Birch Hill Hospital, with dedicated office space.
