A leading local authority in the South West is seeking a Property Partner (Housing) for a permanent position. Our Corporate Landlord Service is responsible for managing all land and building assets, excluding our Housing stock.

The Property Partner role involves providing technical knowledge and support in the management of the operational property estate, covering all assets. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with Services to create Service Asset Management Plans that identify asset requirements and lead on implementing any resulting changes to the portfolio.

What will I be doing?

  • Advising on all aspects of property asset management to maximise property performance through rationalisation and cost reduction while facilitating service delivery in a cost-effective manner.
  • Establishing strategic requirements and delivering solutions which may include:
    • Disposals – Freehold / Leasehold
    • Acquisitions
    • Rationalisation Projects
    • Development advice
  • Line management responsibility for one or more Property Managers.

What do I need to have?

  • A property qualification and experience in proactive property estate management within a large organisation.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and advocacy skills, with the ability to deliver clear professional advice across various service disciplines.
  • Strong listening skills and the capability to articulate service needs effectively.
  • Ability to develop and maintain service relationships while recognising the need for asset review and challenge.
  • Evidence of applying innovative and analytical approaches to solving complex problems.
  • Understanding of the wider business needs and the operation of the regional economy and property market.
