A leading local authority in the South West is seeking a Property Partner (Housing) for a permanent position. Our Corporate Landlord Service is responsible for managing all land and building assets, excluding our Housing stock.

The Property Partner role involves providing technical knowledge and support in the management of the operational property estate, covering all assets. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with Services to create Service Asset Management Plans that identify asset requirements and lead on implementing any resulting changes to the portfolio.

What will I be doing?

  • You will adopt a lead role in advising on all aspects of property asset management to maximise property performance through rationalisation and cost reduction while facilitating service delivery in the most cost-effective manner.
  • You will establish strategic requirements and be responsible for delivering solutions which could include:
    • Disposals – Freehold / Leasehold
    • Acquisitions
    • Rationalisation Projects
    • Development advice
  • You will also have line management responsibility for one or more Property Managers.

  • A property qualification and experience in providing proactive property estate management in a large organisation.
  • An excellent negotiator, problem solver, and advocate, demonstrating the ability to deliver clear professional advice to a wide range of service disciplines and to negotiate, monitor, and complete property transactions.
  • A good listener with the capability to clearly articulate service needs and convert that thinking and planning into effective delivery action.
  • The ability to develop and maintain service relationships while recognising the need for asset review and challenge.
  • Evidence of applying innovative and analytical approaches to solving complex and challenging problems.
  • An understanding of the wider needs of the business and the operation of the regional economy and property market, including an appreciation of opportunities derived from developing and maintaining relationships with other public sector property occupiers.
