The primary purpose of the job position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Food Services department in accordance with established food services standards, policies, procedures, and practices of this facility and requirements of current federal, state, and local standards governing the facility and as may be directed by the Administrator to assure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis and that the dietary department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
Qualifications
- Be a graduate of an accredited course in dietetic training.
- Prefer a Food Service Director who is registered in Pennsylvania.
Required Experience and Skills
- Must have training in cost control, food management, and diet therapy.
- Knowledge of basic sanitation practices preferred.
- Must have, as a minimum, 2 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a health care setting.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Previous long-term care or experience working with the elderly or disabled is desirable.
- Prior experience in Geriatric Food Service preferred.
