We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and motivated GP to join our hardworking multidisciplinary team, working 4 sessions. This post will be under the BMA model contract. We are a training Practice supporting GP Registrars, 4th year Medical Students and Pre Reg Pharmacists. We are accepting new ways of working to address clinical and workforce issues facing Primary Care. Our CQC rating is good.

Main duties of the job

  • In person consultations
  • Telephone consultations
  • Visiting patients at home and in care homes
  • Checking and signing prescriptions
  • Covering duty clinic on a shared rotation
  • Dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence as required
  • Clinical administration

About us

We are a large practice located in Warrington serving a population of around 12,523 patients. The practice has a friendly, supportive team who work closely. This consists of 6 GP partners, 3 salaried GPs, 2 advanced nurse practitioners, 4 practice nurses, 2 pharmacy technicians, 2 healthcare assistants, 3 Managers and a team of 11 Administrators. We are part of an active PCN and have good working relationships while sharing good practice with one another.

Job responsibilities

In accordance with the practice timetable, the successful candidate will undertake a variety of duties, including surgery face to face consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home and in care homes, checking and signing prescriptions and dealing with medication queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion. Actioning a share of blood results and incoming clinical documents electronically. Referring patients for specialist input. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards including coding for QOF.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
  • Evidence of Annual appraisal and revalidation
  • General practice (Vocational Training Scheme) trained
  • On GP performers list
  • Enhanced DBS check
  • UK work permit
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • MRCGP

Experience

  • Experience of dealing with Chronic disease management
  • Experience of Primary prevention & screening services
  • Clinical Governance
  • Delivery of QoF targets
  • Self audit and reflection
  • Organised and efficient in record keeping and completion of paperwork
  • Time management being able to prioritise work and work under pressure
  • Computer literacy
  • Experience of working in Primary Care
  • Experience with Systmone TPP clinical system
  • Experience of working in a Multi disciplinary team
