  • Overview

Are you looking for the next step in your career where you can take ownership of exciting high‑profile projects, lead from the front, and truly influence how things are done?

We're working with a market‑leading MEP consultancy that has a strong presence in the North West, with offices in both Liverpool and Manchester.

Known for their expertise in high‑rise residential, commercial office projects, and refurbishment developments, they are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to play a pivotal role in delivering innovative, sustainable, and technically complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership
  • Take full accountability for electrical design across lighting, power, LV distribution, containment, fire detection, and emergency systems.
  • Deliver calculations and ensure compliance with Amtech (or equivalent software).
  • Oversee submissions to the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) and manage design gateway processes for higher‑risk projects.
  • Sustainable Innovation
  • Provide advice and implement sustainable design practices, collaborating closely with the internal sustainability team.
  • Focus on low‑carbon systems, energy modelling, and building compliance for Part L standards.
  • Client & Team Engagement
  • Represent the consultancy at client meetings, design reviews, and wider project discussions.
  • Confidently interface with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders, aligning project visions with deliverables.
  • Mentor and develop junior and intermediate engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth‑oriented culture within the team.
  • Project Variety
  • Deliver projects spanning high‑rise residential and commercial private sector developments.
  • Handle end‑to‑end planning and ensure adherence to deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Expertise
  • Degree qualified with at least 7 years' experience in a building services consultancy environment.
  • Extensive background in high‑rise residential and commercial projects is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of the Building Safety Regulator framework for higher‑risk projects.
  • Skilled in using electrical calculation software – Amtech preferred.
  • Mindset & Certifications
  • Proficiency in sustainable design practices with emphasis on low‑carbon and energy‑efficient systems.
  • IEng or CEng accreditation, or actively working towards accreditation, is highly desirable.
  • A proactive outlook with a passion for mentoring, problem‑solving, and driving excellence.
  • Additional Benefits
  • Private healthcare for you and your family.
  • A clear career progression pathway towards Principal or Director positions.
  • Be part of an integrated team of MEP, CAD/Revit, and sustainability experts for holistic project delivery.
  • Opportunities to make a real impact and influence the consultancy's direction.

Why Join This Team?

This is a business that understands work‑life balance is crucial.

Not only do they offer a 4‑day working week, but they also provide hybrid working arrangements and flexibility between their Liverpool and Manchester offices.

They take a modern approach to consultancy, operating in a flat structure where senior engineers actively shape the work rather than sitting above the process.
