An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer to join a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy in Watford. This role offers the chance to take ownership of a variety of ground investigation and geoenvironmental projects from initial tender through to completion, whilst managing client relationships and supporting junior team members.

The Role

As a Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and delivering a range of site investigation and contaminated land projects across residential, commercial, industrial and infrastructure sectors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing ground investigation and geoenvironmental projects from inception to completion.
  • Designing and supervising intrusive site investigations.
  • Managing subcontractors, drilling crews and site works.
  • Interpreting geotechnical and contamination data.
  • Preparing and reviewing Phase 1 Desk Studies, Phase 2 Ground Investigation Reports and remediation strategies.
  • Liaising directly with clients, contractors and regulatory bodies.
  • Managing project budgets, programmes and commercial performance.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and graduates.
  • Contributing to business development and maintaining strong client relationships.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience within a geoenvironmental or ground investigation consultancy.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Proven experience supervising site investigations and producing technical reports.
  • Good understanding of contaminated land legislation and guidance.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
