Urban Designer

An exciting opportunity has arisen with a highly regarded urban design and planning company based in Bristol. My client is seeking an experienced Urban Designer to join their dynamic team. The role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of challenging and rewarding projects that contribute to shaping the urban landscape of the city and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to urban design projects from inception to completion.
- Develop and deliver design strategies and concepts for large-scale urban developments.
- Work closely with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to create innovative and sustainable urban environments.
- Prepare detailed design presentations, reports, and planning applications.
- Collaborate in the creation of site layouts, public realm designs, and master plans.
- Ensure all designs adhere to relevant planning policies, sustainability standards, and local guidelines.
- Provide design advice and support to junior team members.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in urban design (some to substantial experience).
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design work, particularly in urban and master planning projects.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant tools.
- Sound knowledge of planning policy, design principles, and sustainable urbanism.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to liaise with clients, stakeholders, and the design team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- A degree in Urban Design, Planning, Architecture, or a related discipline.
