Planner
Location: Cheltenham
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well regarded and growing planning consultancy in their search for a Planner to join their Cheltenham based team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Planner to work on a diverse range of planning projects across the residential, commercial and mixed use sectors. The role would suit a motivated Planner looking to develop their consultancy experience within a collaborative, client-focused environment.
The Role
As a Planner, you will be involved in the delivery of planning advice across projects at varying stages, from initial site appraisals through to planning applications and appeals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and managing planning applications and supporting documentation
- Undertaking planning appraisals and policy research
- Supporting appeal submissions and Local Plan representations
- Liaising with local authorities, consultees and clients
- Assisting senior planners with project delivery and client management
About You
To be successful in this Planner role, you will ideally have:
- A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline
- Experience working in a planning consultancy or local authority environment
- A good understanding of the UK planning system
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive and organised approach
- Progress toward RTPI accreditation (or willingness to work towards it)
