An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and motivated Ecologist to join a growing environmental consultancy based in Tetbury. Working as part of a friendly and experienced team, the successful candidate will contribute to a wide range of ecological projects across the UK. The role offers a varied workload, including protected species surveys, habitat assessments, ecological appraisals, report writing, and supporting planning and development projects from inception through to completion. The Role:

  • Undertake a variety of ecological surveys, including protected species and habitat assessments.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, and protected species documentation.
  • Assist with project management, ensuring work is delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Liaise with clients, planning authorities, and project teams.
  • Support biodiversity enhancement and habitat management initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds a degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related subject.
  • Has experience working within ecological consultancy or a similar environment.
  • Possesses a sound knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
  • Is an excellent communicator with strong report-writing skills.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence.
  • Protected species survey licences would be advantageous but are not essential.
