This is an exciting opportunity for a Rural Town Planner to join a growing consultancy working across a varied portfolio of rural, residential, agricultural, and estate development projects. The successful candidate will benefit from strong client exposure and the opportunity to work on a broad range of planning matters within a supportive and collaborative environment.

THE ROLE

As a Rural Town Planner, you will be involved in delivering planning projects from initial appraisal through to submission and determination, with a particular focus on rural and countryside developments. You will work closely with landowners, rural businesses, and private clients, providing planning advice across a wide variety of schemes while continuing to build your expertise as a Rural Town Planner within a respected consultancy environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing planning applications and appeals for rural and countryside developments
  • Preparing high-quality planning reports and supporting documentation
  • Undertaking site appraisals and feasibility assessments
  • Advising on agricultural, rural diversification, and estate projects
  • Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders
  • Attending client meetings, consultations, and site visits
  • Supporting wider project delivery across rural and residential schemes
  • Contributing to business development and client relationship management

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline
  • MRTPI qualified or working towards Chartership
  • Experience within a planning consultancy or rural property environment
  • Interest or experience in rural and agricultural planning matters
  • Strong understanding of the UK planning system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and client-facing abilities
