Are you a Principal Civil Engineer ready to take technical leadership of development projects and play a key role in shaping a growing consultancy in Fareham? This is a strong opportunity for a Principal Civil Engineer who enjoys leading design, mentoring engineers and influencing project delivery.

You will be joining a respected civil and structural engineering consultancy delivering residential and commercial development projects across the South Coast. This Principal Civil Engineer role offers hands-on involvement in highways, drainage and SuDS design, alongside responsibility for client relationships, team development and project performance.

The role involves leading civil engineering projects from concept through to delivery while supporting the growth of the team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design and delivery of drainage, SuDS and highways schemes
  • Managing S278 and S38 submissions and technical approvals
  • Preparing technical reports and Flood Risk Assessments
  • Managing project resources, budgets and programmes
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients, architects and local authorities
  • Mentoring junior engineers and supporting their technical development
  • Contributing to fee proposals and business development activity

This role suits an experienced Principal Civil Engineer ready to lead. You will ideally have:

  • A degree or HND in Civil Engineering
  • At least 5 years' UK consultancy experience
  • Strong drainage and SuDS design expertise
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and drainage design software
  • Experience managing projects and client relationships
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
