The successful candidate will join a friendly and professional team, contributing to ecological assessments, Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) projects, and protected species surveys. Key Responsibilities
- Undertake a range of ecological surveys and assessments, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs) and protected species surveys.
- Assist in the delivery of Biodiversity Net Gain assessments and associated reporting.
- Prepare high-quality ecological reports and technical documentation.
- Provide ecological input throughout the planning and development process.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Support project delivery across a varied portfolio of developments throughout the UK.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree-level qualification (or higher) in Ecology or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three years' professional ecological experience.
- Associate or Full Membership of CIEEM, or working towards membership.
- Protected species licence holder or actively working towards obtaining licences.
- Experience of Biodiversity Net Gain assessments and application of the statutory metric.
- Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, planning policy and industry-standard survey methodologies.
- Excellent report writing, communication and presentation skills.
- Experience using ecological and GIS software, including QGIS.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use when required.
