An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant to join a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy in Sheffield. This role offers the chance to work within a close-knit and technically strong team, delivering a wide range of geoenvironmental and contaminated land projects across the residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. The successful candidate will take a leading role in managing projects from initial site investigation through to remediation strategy and validation, while also supporting junior team members and contributing to business development activities.
The Role
- Managing and delivering Phase 1 Desk Studies and Phase 2 Ground Investigations
- Factual and interpretative reporting
- Contaminated land risk assessments including human health, groundwater and ground gas assessments
- Designing and overseeing remediation strategies and verification works
- Client liaison and management of project programmes and budgets
- Mentoring junior engineers and consultants
- Assisting with tendering and business development activities
- Coordinating subcontractors and supervising site works
Requirements
- Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline
- Strong geoenvironmental consultancy experience within the UK market
- Experience managing contaminated land and ground investigation projects
- Good understanding of current UK contaminated land guidance and legislation
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Experience mentoring junior staff would be advantageous
- Full UK driving licence
