Senior Town Planner – Leeds Location: Leeds Salary: Competitive, based on experience Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role: My client, a leading environmental consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior Town Planner to join their dynamic team based out of their Leeds office. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Town Planner looking to work on a diverse range of projects within a growing, innovative company. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering planning applications, masterplans, and development strategies for a variety of clients in both the public and private sectors. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage town planning projects from inception to completion. Provide expert advice on town planning policy, land use, and development opportunities. Prepare and submit planning applications and representations. Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities to facilitate the progression of planning projects. Support junior staff with mentoring and technical guidance. Conduct research, site analysis, and feasibility assessments to support planning strategies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of planning policy and legislation.Requirements: A degree in Town Planning or a related field. MRTPI (Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute) status is highly desirable. Proven experience in town planning, including managing complex planning applications. Strong knowledge of planning legislation, local government processes, and policy. Excellent communication, report writing, and project management skills.
