Senior Town Planner
Location: Winchester

The Role
As a Senior Town Planner, you will take ownership of a diverse caseload, manage planning applications and appeals, and provide high level planning advice to a wide client base. You\’ll work with developers, landowners, architects and local authorities, delivering robust planning strategies and guiding projects from inception through to determination. The role also offers opportunities to support junior team members and contribute to business development activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading on the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals
- Drafting planning statements, appraisals, and supporting documents
- Undertaking site visits, assessments, and feasibility reviews
- Managing project timelines, budgets, and client expectations
- Representing clients at meetings, hearings, and public consultations
- Providing mentorship and guidance to junior planners
- Supporting the team with business development and client relationship management
About You
We are seeking an ambitious Senior Town Planner who is confident operating independently, client focused, and keen to progress within a consultancy environment. Strong communication, analytical skills, and commercial awareness are essential.
Requirements:
- RTPI-accredited degree or postgraduate qualification
- MRTPI status preferred (or actively working towards)
- Relevant experience in planning consultancy or local authority
- Excellent knowledge of UK planning policy and the development management process
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Ability to manage client relationships and deliver work to deadlines
- Confident communicator with strong report writing and presentation skills
