Senior Structural Engineer – Leeds

I am currently working with a successful Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy based in Leeds, who are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join their busy team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to benefit from significant career progression within a supportive, innovative environment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in structural analysis and design, with proficiency in a variety of materials and design software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate civil and structural engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Manage design delivery programmes and ensure all project milestones are achieved.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, providing expertise in structural analysis and design.
- Oversee the work of junior engineers, graduates, and technicians, ensuring the quality and accuracy of design information.
- Attend site visits and meetings, ensuring project requirements are met and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Participate in both internal and external design meetings, representing the firm with professionalism.
- Prepare clear, detailed reports and correspondence.
Key Requirements:
- Chartered or Incorporated status with the Institute of Structural Engineers (MIStructE), Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE), or equivalent.
- Proven experience in delivering projects through all stages, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple teams.
- Proficiency in structural design software (TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer, Fastrack Portal Frame, CADS Wall Panel, P Frame, MasterSeries Retaining Wall).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
- IT literate with experience in structural design software packages.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience in managing civil, structural, drainage, and highways aspects of projects.
- Proficiency with CAD/Revit and other design software.
- Experience in client relationship development, networking, and marketing.

- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate and manage a team of engineers and technicians.
- Strong client-facing abilities and excellent communication skills.
