Penguin Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a unique and exciting planning consultancy in their search for a Senior Planner. They provide independent and creative planning advice to a range of development partners predominantly in Kent and the South East region. They pride themselves on giving practical, professional input and have a reputation for integrity and long-term relationships with clients. Through a collaborative approach, this practice strives to focus on the positive benefits of quality development and facilitate investment with development partners in order to shape attractive, well-functioning, and healthy places.

Candidates are required to have:

  • MRTPI qualified with significant experience in consultancy or a similar client-facing role
  • Proven ability to manage projects independently and work closely with clients
  • Strong understanding of the planning system and commercial awareness
  • Confident managing junior team members and supporting their professional development
  • Ambition to progress to Partner level and take on additional business responsibilities

  • Lead on a variety of complex planning projects across the South East and wider UK
  • Provide strategic advice to clients
  • Support and manage junior planning staff, offering mentorship and day-to-day oversight
  • Play a key role in business development and client relationship management
  • Contribute to the strategic growth and direction of the practice
