SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER

New year, new job. Are you a Senior Civil Engineer in Birmingham looking to take greater ownership of infrastructure design while working on major development projects across the UK? This is an opportunity to join a respected consultancy with a strong regional presence and a reputation for delivering high-quality civil engineering solutions.
You will be based in the Birmingham office, forming part of a well‑established and strongly led civil engineering team. While Birmingham is the team base, the work is deliberately varied and national in reach, covering residential, commercial and mixed‑use developments ranging from smaller local schemes through to large, complex infrastructure projects. This role offers genuine technical involvement, client exposure and a clear pathway toward Principal level.
The role
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will take responsibility for the technical delivery of highways and drainage design packages while supporting junior engineers and contributing to project coordination.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and delivering highways designs including S38 and S278 works
- Preparing drainage strategies and detailed designs for S104 and S98 approvals
- Designing SuDS features, foul pumping stations and balancing facilities
- Coordinating design inputs across multidisciplinary teams
- Ensuring compliance with UK standards and CDM Regulations
- Reviewing drawings, calculations and technical reports
- Supporting project programming, quality control and delivery

- A degree in Civil Engineering
- Strong experience in highways and drainage design
