Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well established property and land consultancy, to recruit a Planner for their Rugby office. This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional to join a respected multidisciplinary business with strong expertise across rural, residential, commercial, and development sectors. The role will suit a Planner looking to build hands‑on experience while working closely with landowners, developers, and internal teams.
The Role
As Planner, you will support the delivery of planning advice and applications across a varied portfolio of projects, from early-stage site appraisals through to planning submissions and post‑consent work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and submitting planning applications, pre‑applications, and appeals
- Undertaking site appraisals and planning research
- Advising clients on planning strategy, policy, and development potential
- Liaising with local authorities, consultants, and stakeholders
- Monitoring local planning policy and development plans
- Supporting senior planners on complex projects
About You
The successful Planner will have:
- A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
- Experience working within the UK planning system (consultancy, local authority, or developer)
- Working towards or holding RTPI membership
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive and organised approach to workload
