Associate Geotechnical Director Reading | £65,000 - £80,000+ | Permanent A well-established and growing engineering consultancy is looking to appoint an Associate Geotechnical Director to join its team in Reading. This is a senior opportunity for an experienced geotechnical professional looking to take on greater technical, commercial and leadership responsibility. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading geotechnical projects, developing client relationships and supporting the continued growth of the geotechnical team. The Role Lead and manage a varied portfolio of geotechnical projects from feasibility through to delivery. Provide senior technical input across ground investigation, foundations, earthworks, slopes and geotechnical design. Undertake and review geotechnical assessments, interpret ground investigation data and provide technical recommendations. Lead and mentor a team of engineers and consultants. Manage project budgets, programmes and resources. Liaise directly with clients, contractors and other engineering disciplines. Prepare and review technical reports, specifications and design documentation. Support business development, fee proposals and client relationship management. Identify opportunities to develop new and existing client relationships. Contribute to the strategic development and growth of the geotechnical team. About You Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline. Significant UK geotechnical consultancy experience. Strong technical knowledge across areas such as foundations, earthworks, retaining structures and ground investigation. Chartered Engineer status with ICE or a similar professional body. Proven experience managing projects and leading technical teams. Strong commercial awareness and client-facing experience. Excellent technical report writing and communication skills. Experience with geotechnical design software would be advantageous. A track record of winning work and developing client relationships would be highly desirable.
