Job Title: Principal EICA Engineer Ref. No.: CJD2012N25 Location: Based near Glasgow Salary: Β£60,000 – Β£70,000 This is an excellent opportunity to join my client, a passionate, environmentally-minded Multidisciplinary Consultancy, currently in the process of establishing themselves as an industry-leading team of design experts in the Water Sector. They are currently on the lookout for a driven, analytically-minded Principal EICA Engineer, with demonstrable knowledge of wastewater and non-infrastructure design, who is willing and able to lead a team through their delivery of an array of challenging projects. You will have a hand in establishing, growing, and managing a team of capable design engineers, based near the thriving, metropolitan city of Glasgow. Benefits for the role of Principal EICA Engineer include (but are not limited to): Competitive salary (depending on the skills and experience you can bring to the role) Employee Pension Scheme Generous annual leave allowance A focus on a work-life balance, with options for flexible/hybrid working Life Insurance Scheme Dedication to your Continuing Professional Development (CPD), with excellent career progression opportunities Delivery of a wide range of exciting engineering projects Proactively contributing to the company\’s development prospects Responsibilities for the role of Principal EICA Engineer include: Leading on complex electrical design deliverables, including single-line diagrams, distribution layouts, projection and coordination, earthing/grounding, and more Overseeing the specifications of electrical equipment for a range of projects, including switchgears, transformers, distribution boards, etc. Providing various designs for control and instrumentation interfaces, to include SCADA, PLCs, field instrumentation, and power supply Undertaking calculations, analyses, and coordination studies, as well as other technical work, including checking and amending that submitted by colleagues Establishing excellent professional relationships with clientele and other stakeholders across the public and private sectors, ensuring high-quality project delivery Delivering all project stages, including initial commissioning, testing, site supervision, delivery, and handover Ensuring compliance with the required standards, regulations, procedures, and legislation Managing a busy team of colleagues, as well as a diverse range of projects Required skills and experience for the role of Principal EICA Engineer include: A UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or a similar, relevant field) Possess Chartered Status with a recognised professional body (e.g., IET) Considerable experience of working in an electrical engineering role, within infrastructure or the industrial sector Demonstrable experience in power distribution, electrical design, and control and instrumentation Good working knowledge of the relevant industry standards and regulations, including IEC, BS, and NEC Proficient in preparing drawings, schematics, and other technical documents Excellent working knowledge of a range of design and analysis software systems and tools, including AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, Dialux, etc. An understanding of LV/MV electrical systems and utility interface requirements Good problem solving skills, with a technical mindset Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience of managing people, projects, and stakeholder relations Hold a full, valid UK driving licence Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal EICA Engineer include: A Higher Degree in a relevant subject Experience within the UK Water Sector, particularly with wastewater and/or utilities Good working knowledge of instrumentation, PLC, SCADA, and automation systems Prior experience of working on construction sites Some experience with power quality, harmonic analysis, and energy efficiency Experience of setting up protective relays, coordination, and testing procedures If you are interested in the role of Principal EICA Engineer, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
