Our client, a well-established engineering consultancy working in Bristol, is seeking a Principal Designer to join their growing team, supporting the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of Environment Agency projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary consultancy that places health, safety, and innovative design at the heart of every project.

The Role of Principal Designer:

As Principal Designer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the CDM Regulations 2015 throughout the design process. Working closely with clients, designers, and contractors, you will help identify, eliminate, and manage health and safety risks from concept through to project completion.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking the duties of Principal Designer in accordance with CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Coordinating design risk management across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Reviewing and challenging design information to eliminate or reduce foreseeable risks.
  • Facilitating design risk workshops and providing CDM advice to project teams.
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance and best practices.
