Principal Acoustic Consultant – London\\n\\nSalary: £50,000 – £55,000\\nLocation: London\\n\\nWe are working with a long-established, multi-disciplinary building services consultancy that continues to strengthen its London-based Acoustics team. The group delivers specialist acoustic, noise, and vibration advice across large-scale UK developments and complex refurbishment schemes, working closely with design teams from concept through to delivery.\\n\\nThey are now seeking a Principal Acoustic Consultant to provide technical leadership, oversee project delivery, and play a key role in shaping the direction and growth of the acoustics offering in London.\\n\\nThe role\\n\\nAs a Principal Consultant, you will take overall responsibility for the delivery and technical quality of acoustic services across a wide project portfolio, including:\\n\\nLeading building and architectural acoustics input from early-stage design through to detailed technical resolution\\n\\nManaging and reviewing environmental noise and vibration assessments to support planning and development strategies\\n\\nOverseeing M&E acoustics work, including complex plant noise assessments and mitigation design\\n\\nDirecting site-based noise monitoring programmes and ensuring robust data interpretation\\n\\nReviewing and approving technical reports, while confidently presenting findings to clients and project teams\\n\\nCoordinating closely with internal disciplines (MEP, sustainability, structures) and managing external stakeholder interfaces\\n\\nYou will also play a central role in mentoring and developing junior and mid-level consultants, setting technical standards and supporting team performance.\\n\\nAbout you\\n\\nThe successful candidate will demonstrate:\\n\\nSignificant experience within an acoustic consultancy environment, operating at Senior or Principal level\\n\\nStrong technical authority combined with a commercially aware, solutions-driven approach\\n\\nIn-depth knowledge of relevant standards and guidance (including BS 4142, BS 8233, BB93 and ProPG)\\n\\nProven experience with acoustic modelling tools such as CadnaA and/or SoundPLAN\\n\\nA strong background in noise monitoring and assessment methodologies\\n\\nThe ability to manage complex workloads, review others' work, and maintain high technical standards\\n\\nDesirable experience\\n\\nCorporate or full IOA membership and progress toward Chartered status\\n\\nExperience contributing to EIA or Environmental Statement projects\\n\\nConstruction noise and vibration assessment experience, including Section 61\\n\\nA proactive interest in business development, work-winning, and client account growth\\n\\nWhy apply?\\n\\nLeadership responsibility on high-profile London projects across multiple sectors\\n\\nA collaborative, multi-disciplinary consultancy environment with strong internal support\\n\\nClearly defined progression framework\\n\\nA key leadership role within a growing and ambitious acoustics team\\n\\nTo apply, please contact Abi King at Penguin Recruitment
