Overview
In this role you will apply geotechnical expertise to subsea cable projects from Newcastle, driving CBRA and route/infrastructure decisions. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to assess seabed conditions, optimize burial depth and asset protection, and deliver robust, cost-efficient solutions for offshore renewables. Your work will shape installation strategies and risk management for complex offshore cabling. Responsibilities
- Lead and undertake Cable Burial Risk Assessments (CBRA)
- Support subsea cable route engineering, burial assessments and trenching design
- Evaluate seabed conditions, soil properties and geotechnical risks
- Develop recommendations to optimise cable installation, burial depth and asset protection
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, technically robust solutions
Key requirements
- Strong background in geotechnical engineering
- Experience in subsea cables, offshore projects and CBRA
- Strong analytical skills and technical report writing
- Ability to communicate complex engineering concepts
- Full UK Driving Licence and right to work in the UK
