This Edinburgh opportunity combines hydraulic modelling, hydrology, technical assurance and client responsibility across major UK and international schemes.The OpportunityA leading multidisciplinary consultancy is looking for a Principal Flood Risk & Hydrology Consultant to join its established water team. You will provide technical leadership across flood risk, hydrology and hydraulic modelling while remaining closely involved in project delivery.Key Responsibilities* Lead flood risk, hydrology and hydraulic modelling work* Review complex hydraulic models and Flood Risk Assessments* Provide technical advice across infrastructure and development projects* Support climate adaptation and water environment assessments* Manage project delivery and client relationships* Work with multidisciplinary design and environmental teams* Mentor junior and mid-level consultants and modellers* Support proposals, work winning and development of the technical serviceCandidate Requirements* Strong consultancy experience in flood risk and hydrology* Chartered professional status or working towards Chartership* Advanced hydraulic modelling and technical review capability* Experience delivering complex Flood Risk Assessments and hydrological studies* Strong client-facing and project management skills* Experience mentoring and developing technical staffWhy Apply?This Principal Flood Risk & Hydrology Consultant role offers the chance to remain technically focused while taking greater responsibility for projects, clients and people.
