A specialist environmental consultancy is looking to recruit a Junior Contaminated Land Specialist to join their remediation team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or junior consultant to gain hands-on experience working on contaminated land and remediation projects alongside experienced specialists.
The successful Junior Contaminated Land Specialist will support the delivery of site investigations, remediation projects and environmental assessments across a variety of residential, commercial and industrial developments. The successful Junior Contaminated Land Specialist will have:
- A degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering or a related subject
- Around 6 months to 2 years' experience within contaminated land, geo-environmental or remediation consultancy (graduates with relevant placements are encouraged to apply)
- An interest in contaminated land assessment and remediation
- Good report writing and communication skills
- A full UK driving licence
Key responsibilities:
- Assisting with intrusive site investigations and environmental sampling
- Supporting the design and delivery of remediation projects
- Monitoring remediation works on site
- Logging soils and groundwater during ground investigations
- Assisting with contaminated land risk assessments
- Producing factual reports and supporting interpretative reporting
- Liaising with contractors, clients and subcontractors
- Ensuring work is completed safely and in line with current guidance
