Penguin Recruitment is working on behalf of a leading, independent planning and development consultancy to recruit an Environmental Consultant to join their established London team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of high profile development and infrastructure projects across sectors including residential, commercial, mixed‐use, energy, and major regeneration. You will be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where environmental considerations are central to shaping sustainable development outcomes.
The Role
- Supporting and managing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and environmental reports
- Coordinating inputs from technical specialists and external consultants
- Preparing screening and scoping reports, Environmental Statements, and supporting documentation
- Liaising with local authorities, statutory consultees, and project stakeholders
- Advising clients and internal teams on environmental planning strategy and risk
- Assisting with project management, programme delivery, and quality assurance
About You
- A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Geography, or a related discipline
- Relevant experience in environmental consultancy, planning, or EIA coordination
- A good understanding of UK environmental and planning legislation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Professional membership with IEMA or working towards chartership
