Join a rapidly growing national Building Performance team as a Senior Building Performance Consultant, where your expertise will play a pivotal role in delivering decarbonisation, net zero, and sustainability strategies across the UK's built environment. Your Day-to-Day

  • Owning projects as the technical lead and project engineer, overseeing project delivery and resourcing.
  • Mentoring and supervising junior colleagues to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Reviewing and ensuring the quality of technical work conducted by your team.
  • Leading client and stakeholder workshops to establish and align sustainability goals.
  • Conducting advanced technical modelling and detailed analysis in support of project execution.
  • Collaborating with senior leadership to identify new business opportunities and drive team growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Advisory: Act as an expert consultant, guiding clients to achieve Net Zero Carbon (NZC), Decarbonisation, and Circular Economy objectives.
  • Project Ownership: Manage high-profile projects from concept to completion, ensuring sustainable, high-performance environmental designs.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor junior staff, share line management responsibilities, and contribute to the growth of the Northern and National Building Performance teams.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead workshops with clients and design teams, articulating complex technical data effectively.
  • Advanced Modelling & Analysis: Conduct embodied carbon assessments. Perform building performance simulation and in-use energy modelling. Analyse feasibility of energy generation solutions.
  • Business Development: Create compelling fee proposals and tender submissions, contributing to the growth and success of the business.

Qualifications & Skill Set

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience in the sustainability-focused built environment industry.
  • Expertise in at least one of the following areas: TM54 (Operational Energy Modelling) and In-Use Energy Assessment, TM59 / Part O (Overheating Risk Assessment), Part L Compliance Modelling and Energy Strategies, Passivhaus principles and design certification, Decarbonisation Roadmaps and Net Zero Carbon Strategies, Whole Life Carbon (WLC) Assessment and Circular Economy.

Advantageous Traits:

  • Experience mentoring or managing a small team and a passion for professional development.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective engagement with clients and stakeholders.
  • A growth-focused mindset with a desire to continually develop and refine your expertise.
