Civil Engineer with 2-4 years' experience? This is a chance to step into a consultancy where you will gain real design responsibility, exposure to major UK development projects, and clear support to progress your career within a highly experienced civil engineering team. You will be based in the Derby office, working alongside a friendly and well-established group of engineers and technicians while contributing to projects across the UK. The workload is deliberately varied, covering everything from bespoke residential developments and smaller local schemes through to large commercial, industrial and major residential projects. You will not be restricted to a single sector and will build broad, valuable experience in highways, drainage and development infrastructure.
The role:
- Support the design and delivery of infrastructure packages from concept through to technical approval.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with highways design including S38 and S278 works
- Preparing drainage strategies and detailed designs for S104 and S185 submissions
- Producing SuDS layouts and earthworks information
- Preparing drawings and reports using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and InfoDrainage
- Liaising with architects, local authorities and multidisciplinary teams
- Supporting Flood Risk Assessments and planning submissions
- Assisting with project coordination and technical quality control
About you:
- A degree in Civil Engineering
- 2 to 4 years' UK consultancy experience
- Good knowledge of highways and drainage design
- Confidence using AutoCAD and drainage software
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
